Measuring Yourself For Linen: Why Is It Important?

One important characteristic to understand about linen is that it is a non-stretch fabric. Unlike synthetic blends or knit materials, linen does not contain elastic fibers, meaning it will not stretch to accommodate the body. This is exactly what gives linen its structure and refined silhouette - but it also means that choosing the right size is essential.
A well-fitted linen garment should feel comfortable without relying on stretch, allowing natural movement while maintaining its shape.
Measure Before Placing The Order
Because of this, taking accurate body measurements before placing an order is key to ensuring the best fit. Even if you usually wear a standard size, sizing can vary between brands and styles, especially with handmade garments. Measuring yourself helps avoid disappointment and ensures that your chosen piece will fit as intended - comfortable, flattering, and easy to wear from the very first day.
How To Measure?

To measure yourself correctly, you only need a soft measuring tape and a few minutes.
Start with the bust: measure around the fullest part while keeping the tape level and not too tight.
For the waist, measure the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button.
The hips should be measured at the fullest point, keeping your feet together for accuracy.
Outer seam is non less important - measure from your waist down to your feet. It’s best to stand naturally and avoid pulling the tape too tightly - your measurements should reflect your true, relaxed stance.
Also measure your arm, biceps is especially important part, also the part where the sleeve ends. For example if your are ordering 3/4 top, you can measure your arm and see if garment's length of 3/4 sleeve corresponds with yours.
We also always ask to measure your height. ALWAYS measure height on the front side of the body measuring from the highest point of shoulder down to hem.
With all this measurements you will be sure you do not miss a thing!
Compare Your Measurements With Our Size Chart

If you are measuring for tops, dresses, or jackets, bust and waist measurements are especially important.
For trousers or skirts, hip measurements become key.
You may also want to check garment length by measuring from your shoulder or waist down, depending on the piece.

And Once Again - Why is Linen So Special?

Linen is one of the oldest and most trusted natural fabrics, valued for its breathability, durability, and effortless elegance. Made from flax fibers, it is a completely natural material that allows the skin to breathe, making it especially comfortable for everyday wear. Linen adapts beautifully to different seasons - cool and airy in warmer months, yet still cozy when layered. Its slightly textured finish and relaxed drape are part of what gives linen garments their timeless, lived-in charm.
